Our Covid Policy
As we know, COVID is ever-evolving. A subset of our target audience includes individuals who are unable to receive vaccinations or wear masks (young children specifically). Rooted MKE staff continues to wear masks in-store. While we do ask adults to practice social distancing as best as they can in our cozy shop, we understand that so much of how youth learn, express themselves and interact is through physical touch, shared experiences and interaction. We do clean high-touch services and objects consistently throughout the day and deep clean weekly.
During tutoring sessions, students may be asked to wear provided face-shield coverings instead of masks. This enables our team members to see their mouths and vice versa. Face shields are to be taken home and brought back for each academic support session. We will continue to closely monitor data, recommendations and trends and adjust as appropriate to keep everyone as healthy and safe as possible.
